Let it snow!

I fully intended on giving you all a lovely recipe today, but I managed to get super sick last night (and thus just barely miss hanging out with Jessy at the Pine Street Barber Shop–it’s such a small world, holy crap!) But the savior of the story is the snow–lots of snow! All week, the forecast called for a rain/snow mix and, being from Georgia where the weather never cooperates with the prediction, I never believed it would actually happen. But when I woke up this morning, the yard was white and big, fluffy flakes were a’flyin. Even though it probably wasn’t the smartest thing, I could resist a walk through the neighborhood and I’m really glad I did. There’s nothing more wonderful than unexpected snow, especially when the last time it snowed where I lived was two years ago. Happy weekend everyone and if you’re somewhere where the weather is delightful, go frolic!

Your pictures are making me feel like a curmudgeon for being disgruntled about the snow. (I’m ready to move somewhere it never snows; I hate it.)

I hope you feel better soon!

Ah, so jealous! All we got here was a slushy rain/snow mix, and nothing’s sticking.

So pretty! We’re in Charlottesville this weekend, and it’ snowing here, too!

  7. I am so jealous of your snow!! We only had a few flakes here but not enough to accumulate. Gorgeous photos, as always!

I hope you feel better soon, Jes! Stay warm and drink lots of hot beverages! Dr. Kook’s orders! 😀

Thanks, Jes 🙂 They were addictively delicious. I’m so glad they inspired you.

I love your snowman! I miss the snow sometimes, except when I’m around it. Then I turn into a pansy that just wants to sit in front of a heater and drink hot tea haha.

  9. OOOOhhhhh these pictures made me feel all Christmasy! The weather here is pretty great, it is RAINING. That usually wouldn’t be too great but here in Saudi it only rains maybe 3 or 4 days a year so it is pretty special. It is in the 70s/80s during the day which is nice and cool, I love it.

hiya, Jes! i’m totally jealousfaced that you guys got a good snow; we just had rain here. i looooove all your beautiful snowy pictures. they’re all so lovely!

i couldn’t believe i ran into some friends of yours yesterday at the barber shop! that was so cool! every time i get my hair done i like to bake cookies to bring in for everyone to enjoy (this time i brought snickerdoodles) – your friends had some cookies and mentioned they had a friend who makes lots of gloriously tasty vegan & gluten-free yummies and that they had a blog. i asked about the blog and i got soooooo happy&superexcitedfaced when they said “cupcake punk”. i exclaimed “i know Jes! oh my gosh, her blog is one of my absolulte favorites!” they told me you were to join them, but couldn’t because you were under the weather. i couldn’t believe we almost ran into each other! what a small (and awesome) world, indeed!

i’m sorry you’re feeling icky, and i hope you’re back to feeling great super soon! i’m sending happyfaced & healthy thoughts your way, my friend.

I like the photos, they’re really pretty. Not pretty enough to make me miss snow though! It’s too cold for me.

Those are lovely snowwalk pictures. So happy and festive. I especially like the one with the icy snow on the purple berries.

I hope you feel better soon. I always find ginger tea to be soothing when I’m sick.

I guess I shouldn’t feel so bad that it’s a bit chilly, here in California. 🙂
